How to Create a Vision Board that Actually Works

Sharing is caring!

Vision boards are a visual representation of your desires, goals, desired outcomes and are an extremely powerful tool in manifestation.

They work especially well if you struggle with visualization or trying to see your goals when you close your eyes. (me…that’s me)

Physically seeing your goals on paper…or on your phone or computer daily will actually stimulate your emotions and put you into the vibration of your desires more quickly.

Meaning, you’ll be able to manifest your goals more quickly.

So, if you’ve ever wondered how to create your own vision board, take your coat off and stay awhile, this is going to be good.

What is a Vision Board?

Vision boards are simply a visual representation of your desires and goals that you want to manifest in your life.

These desires and goals are created with pictures using your phone, laptop or even a physical cork board and some magazines.

The idea is to use pictures to help you see your goals more clearly and on a daily basis.

And what we focus on grows.

Vision boards also help you clarify and get extremely clear on what you actually want.

Maybe you want more love in your life so you add a picture of a partner or a family.

You get the gist. It’s all about what you desire to have in your life.

How to Create a Digital Vision Board

I’m going to show you how to create a digital vision board because those are the ones I personally prefer, and my phone and laptop are the two places I look at the most during the day.

If you would rather use a physical vision board you can do so by still following the same steps but using a magazine and cork board instead of your phone.

1. Get Clear on Your Desires

First things first, you’ve got to get clear on what you want and try to be as specific as possible here.

Avoid just saying, more money, or a nice house or whatever.

This is your chance to get specific and really understand what it is you want and get a clear picture of why you want it.

You can also use words or sayings that resonate with you on an emotional level or use affirmations that resonate such as, money is always flowing my way, I am worthy of love and so on.

Also, make sure your goals are believable to you.

If you don’t honestly believe something is possible, you’re already creating resistance which will make it really difficult to show up.

For example, if you’re currently making $1,000 a month and you want to make $1 million dollars a month do you really believe that it is possible right now?

While yes, of course, everything is possible but only if you believe it to be.

If you feel you have any “blocks” or limiting beliefs specifically around money, check out this post that will show you how to remove those limiting beliefs which makes manifesting much easier.

2. Create a Template

The next step is to create a template for your vision board for all the places you are going to have it such as your phone, computer, iPad.

For this we’re going to be using a free site called, Canva.com

All you have to do is sign up via email (again it’s totally free) and create a template for each of your devices.

I will show you how to do this via video as well as with written instructions. If you’re more visual, watch the video below, if not, just keep reading.

1. Go to Canva.com

Go to canva.com and click custom dimensions at the top right-hand side. This is going to be the size of your vision board to ensure it fits perfectly on your phone, laptop and everything else.

Because everyone’s phone is going to be different and the easiest way to find your custom dimensions for your cell phone is to simply Google your dimensions.

For anyone with an iPhone 7 Plus the dimensions will be 1080x 1920.

2. Pick your Template

Once you have your dimensions set up the next step is to pick your template. For this part, I chose to create my own template.

To do this, click on “elements” on the left-hand side and type in “grids” into the search bar.

3. Choose your Grid and begin adding images.

Scroll through to find a grid template that you like and click on it to add it to your board. Most likely you’ll have to manipulate it a bit to get it to fit the way you want it.

For the grid I chose, I had to change the size quite a bit and then copied it so it to fit the entire template. I highly recommend watching the video for this part if you’re unfamiliar with Canva.com.

Next start adding the images that resonate with you and pertain to your goals and desires that you wrote out previously.

You can also add words or affirmations that resonate with you that you would like to see on a daily basis.

You can use images from Google, Pinterest, your own camera roll, whatever. As long as this is for your personal use only, images from the internet are perfectly fine to use.

To upload images and add them to your vision board, click on “uploads” on the left-handed side inside Canva.com and upload any images you found online.

Then click on the image you want on your vision board is drag it to the grid.

Do this for all of your images.

4. Save to your Favorite Device

If you are using this vision board for your laptop, all you have to do is save it to your laptop and set it as your background so you will see it every single day.

But, if you are using your vision board for your iPhone there is one more step you need to take to get it onto your phone.

Download the canva app on your phone (again totally free) and click on “your designs” at the bottom of the app. Find your vision board design and click the download button at the top right-hand side (looks like an arrow facing down), download it to your phone and then change your wallpaper and screen saver as your vision board.

How to Use Your Vision Board

5. Set an Intention

This is something I personally do before using or doing anything. I simply set my intention for how I’m going to use my board.

It can be as simple as looking at your vision board(s) and saying, “I tend for this vision board to bring me exactly what I asked for. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

An intention is just giving a direction and purpose to what you are using to manifest.

Every time I set intentions they always manifest, ALWAYS, every single time.

6. Look at your Vision Board Daily

Every single morning, night, afternoon, look at your vision board and feel how it will feel when you achieve those goals and desires.

Feel gratitude for the desires coming your way and get excited as all heck!

You can meditate before or after looking at your board or you can simply think about the feelings. It’s totally up to you and what works is doing whatever will help you believe you will receive those desires.

Remember, it’s all about believing that this is possible, that is possible for you to receive your desires.

And yeah okay, it’s a bit woo woo but it works!

As you achieve your goals and desires, you can rinse and repeat this entire process with your new goals and desires as you see fit.
