What is your life’s purpose?
Do you know or have any idea?
Did you even know there was such a thing?
This term, “life’s purpose” is thrown around like a sack of bean bags in the personal development community but uh, what in the actual heck does it mean?
And how do you find this magical thing?
But most of all, how do you know when you’re not on track with it?
Before you can figure out if you’re in alignment with your life’s purpose, you have to first understand what it actually is and what role it plays in your own life.
What is Your Life’s Purpose?
Everyone seems to have a difference of opinion when it comes to what your life’s purpose actually is, but in essence, it is what you were put here on this earth to do.
That feels heavy…like a giant responsibility right off the bat, doesn’t it?
But in fact, it should feel easy.
It should feel right.
Your life’s purpose is something that you were born to do. It makes you happy, feel fulfilled and brings immense joy to not only yourself but to everyone it touches.
This can mean being a teacher, running a shelter, being creative, an entrepreneur, building homes, making watches, literally the list goes on and on and on.
Some people know right away what their life’s purpose is and for others, it can take some time.
But there is no right or wrong way to go about finding your life’s purpose.
It’s all about how YOU feel, what lights YOU up, what makes YOU feel right.
So if finding your life’s purpose is all about chasing the good, high vibin’ feelings, then being out of alignment must mean you feel bad right?
Feel Your Way Into Alignment
Being out of alignment is actually easier than you think to discover.
Simply because it begins and ends with your feelings.
But we are taught to believe that suffering, feeling bad, life being hard is just how it’s mean to be. That’s just how life is.
Or so we’re told.
But, what if I told you that you were not meant to suffer?
You were not meant to live in pain.
Would you believe me?
That’s okay if your answer was no because trust me, I’ve been there.
And I once truly believed that suffering, feeling off, being sad and angry day and day out was normal, it was “how it was supposed to be”.
Because “life is hard”.
Want to know a secret?
Life doesn’t have to be hard. It can be easy if you want it to be.
7 Signs You’re Out of Alignment with Your Life’s Purpose
1. When Darkness Comes, You Can’t Find the Light
Life is all about balancing the dark with the light.
Because there will always be both.
Think about when you are sick and then you feel better, it’s like you have a newfound gratitude towards your health.
Without the darkness, you can’t see the light.
But if you are out of alignment, all you will see is darkness.
This darkness can mean feeling sad, angry, frustrated and like nothing is going right but instead of looking for the silver lining, all you can see is more black clouds.
When you are in alignment with your life’s purpose, you recognize that there will be times of struggle or things that are challenging or problems, but you’ll only see them as lessons and reasons to grow so you won’t stay in them very long.
2. You Feel Stuck
Have you ever woke up one morning..or all the mornings and just felt, stuck?
You can’t really explain the feeling but it sure as heck doesn’t feel good to be in it.
Maybe you feel a bit off but you just can’t explain it?
Those are telltale signs that you are out of alignment because remember, being in alignment feels good, it feels right and even if you come across a problem or something that needs to solved, you are able to learn from it, grow from it and move on from it.
Our initial instinct when in this feeling is to do more.
Take more action.
Take BIGGER action.
But that usually just ends up leaving us feeling even worse than before and even more tired from all the work and energy we just put into something that didn’t need to be done in the first place.
Instead, get back in tune with yourself and your Intuition.
Ask yourself who you need to be, what you need to do and how you would feel if you were living your life’s purpose and see what comes up.
3. You Feel Like You’re Dragging A Weight Through the Desert
Life doesn’t have to be hard, but that’s not to say there won’t be times when challenges come up and you’ll have to adapt or you’ll have to put in a little more inspired action.
That being said, if the action you are taking feels like you are dragging a weight on your ankle through the desert, you are not in alignment.
If you are pushing and pulling and grinding and hustling all day, every day with little to no return, the actions you are taking are not in alignment with your higher purpose.
That may be a tough pill to swallow but it’s one you need to wrap your head around.
And I know, we’ve been taught our whole lives the complete opposite, that more and more effort means more return.
But it doesn’t work that way.
Think about someone who works REALLY hard but is just barling scraping by and not enjoying life.
Now think about someone who does half the work but is living their best life.
Effort, energy, and work do not equate to a better life or alignment.
Take a step back and ask yourself why it feels this way.
What could you do to make what you’re doing feel easier?
The best answer is always in the best question.
4. You’re not Attracting Your Desires
You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are.
Which means, you must be in alignment with what you desire to bring in to your life.
And yes, this is still true for the Law of Attraction and manifestation.
When you are in alignment, you give off the vibration of your highest desires.
These types of desires usually go a bit deeper than material things are things like but you will still receive material things because that is all part of the human experience.
If you’re feeling like you’re not manifesting your desires into your reality and you’re doing all the things, reading all the books, manifesting like crazy, then you are probably out of alignment.
5. You Can’t Hear Your Intuition
Your Intuition is like the spokesmodel of your life’s purpose and it is the voice that you use to guide you through life to get to where you are meant to be.
But if you can’t hear what it’s saying, it’s going to be impossible to follow it anywhere.
Think of your Intuition like Siri and you’re driving along to your destination but the volume button is all the way down so you can’t hear her.
Will it be harder or easier to get to where you’re going?
The thing is, there isn’t only one voice trying to control where you’re going.
Your ego is also trying to run the show making it difficult to sometimes hear what to do next.
To get more in tune with your Intuition over your ego, begin noticing the nudges to do something, take an action that feels good.

6. You’re Taking Everyone Else’s Opinion As the Truth, The Whole Truth & Nothing But The Truth
When you’re in alignment and on the right path, you hear the noise of other people but you feel confident and committed to the direction you’re going in.
No one can derail you from your path.
But when you’re out of alignment, it’s a different story.
It’s much easier to flip flop, to do something just because everyone else is doing it or get plagued with shiny object syndrome.
Being in alignment gives you sense of just knowing.
Being out of alignment gives you sense of not knowing what in the heck you’re doing.
7. You Feel Like You’ve Lost Yourself
When we feel this way we try to remedy it by searching for ourselves and we do this by looking outside of us.
Which kinda sounds counterintuitive because wouldn’t you find yourself within you?
Anyway, when you’re out of alignment with you really are and your life’s purpose, it can feel like you’ve completely lost who you are as a person and it feel pretty horrible.
The thing is though, you never really lose yourself.
Your true, authentic being is just buried underneath years of societal norms and “shoulds” and other people’s beliefs, thoughts, and feelings.
Instead, when you’re feeling out of alignment with yourself and who you are, go inward.
And dig into who you are minus what everyone else wants you to be.
Perfection is Not the Goal, Awareness Is
You may have come to the end of this article and thought to yourself about how out of alignment you are and may even be beating yourself about it.
Here’s the thing, perfection is not the goal and it doesn’t exist.
What you’re really chasing is awareness.
Becoming aware when you are out of alignment is your best gift.
Because once you become aware of what you are doing that isn’t in alignment with your life’s purpose, you can simply pivot and move onto something that is.
