Sharing is caring!

Raise your hand if you want to make some extra money this year?

Let me guess…you raised your hand but you may be thinking, but how though?

The good news is that are a million and two (yes I’ve counted) ways to make money online and/or in person and it’s actually quite easy to do as long as you have a few ideas to get the ball rolling.

Whether you’re looking to work from home or spend your weekends making a few hundred bucks, I’m giving you a list of 9 of the best ways to make passive income in 2019.

And don’t worry, you don’t need to be greasy and sleazy like that used car salesmen to make money.

Before we dive in though…

What is Passive Income

Passive income technically speaking, means making money without really having to do much of anything. But in all reality, for most forms of income, you’re going to have to do a few things to set it up before you can begin making money.

The really big plus about passive income is that all you have to is set up the front end or back end and then you can pretty much set it and forget it and continue to make money on it even while you sleep. Which is the dream. (pun 100% intended)

9 Easy Ways to Make Passive Income

1. Start a Blog

Yeah okay, so your eyes may be rolling so far back into your head you can read your own thoughts but the truth is starting a blog is one of the best ways to make money online long term and can actually be done quite passively.

But uh, it’s not as easy as it looks in the movies and of course, there’s some strategy involved but I’m not going to bore you with all that so if you want to learn the nitty-gritty of starting a blog read this post from my other blog and check out my eBook. (yes, I run multiple blogs…I like blogging..a lot.)

Anway.

Once your blog is set up the passive income streams are pretty much endless.

You can utilize affiliate marketing by signing up to become an affiliate for just about any company you want and getting paid to sell their products. You can write blog posts for other companies, get paid for having ads on your blog and the list literally goes on and on.

There are bloggers making $100,000 a year and others making $10,000. The possibilities are endless.

But I’ll let you in on a lil’ secret up front, if you want to make serious money from your blog, you have to have a self-hosted blog.

There are a plethora of reasons behind this but I didn’t start making money from my blog until I went self-hosted with SiteGround.

2. Sell Your Unwanted Clutter On eBay

We all have a bit of clutter laying around the house.

Maybe it’s that old prom dress you never got to wear or that stack of cell phones your keeping in your closet.

All of those things can actually be sold on eBay and I know eBay has been around literally forever but I feel like sometimes we forget about it.

Get out your camera and start snapping some pics, set up an eBay account and away you go!

3. Start a Shopify Store

If you really want to create a passive income stream, the online world is the way to go.

You can easily set up a Shopify store in less than a few hours and get your products up and ready to sell.

The possibilities are endless for what you can sell online and you don’t even have to be super crafty to do it either. Some ideas include paper flowers (big right now), vases, handmade candles, toys, gift boxes, basically anything!

If you really want to make this as passive as possible, digital products such as organizational printables, baby shower graphics, and signs, printable games and so much more are perfect to sell on Shopify and will alleviate all the shipping and backend stuff that physical products require.

4. Write a Book

Okay I realize that this one might not be for everyone BUT if you love to write and starting a blog isn’t your thing, you can actually write a book and sell it Amazon, and you guessed it, you can do this passively.

It doesn’t even have to be a physical book, it can actually be an eBook which is much easier to create and takes a whole heck of a lot less time. You also don’t need a fancy publisher because you can self-publish with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

The possibilities are endless on what you could write about, so if you have a solution to a problem someone has, write about it, if you have a really interesting life story, write about it.

If you want to learn how to actually write an eBook and make thousands of dollars from it, learn from someone who has done it not once, but multiple times. Ana of The She Approach officially has her first eBook course to teach you exactly how to make money from your eBooks passively just as she has. Check out the course here.

5. Sell Crafts at Your Local Craft Show

My mom and I do this and love it! Yes, this one is a little less passive because you have to be there all day but it’s really fun, the hours aren’t very long and we can easily bring in over $100 a day with less than 30 products.

You can really get your creativity on and have fun creating something!

And no, you don’t have to look like a super professional, the point is to look homemade and create something that is relevant to the people you are selling to.

6. Sell Stock Photos

Do you have some camera skills and a nice camera to take pictures with? Then you can sell stock photos!

Stock photos can be basically anything but in my line of work (psst I’m a blogger), we’re looking for photos for our blog posts and social media graphics and in order to stand out, we pay for stock photography.

Stock photos are also used in many advertisements for businesses as well.

You can sell your photos on Shutterstock or Istock or create your own website and sell your photo bundles on there! And the fun part of having your own website is you have full control over promotions, discounts and everything else really make this a passive income stream.

7. Make Money On Pinterest

We’ve all heard of Pinterest right? It’s an amazing resource for petty much anything you can think of and most bloggers, myself included, rely on it to not only drive traffic but to actually make money. But here’s a lil’ secret, you don’t have to be a blogger to make money with Pinterest.

You can actually sell certain affiliate products directly on Pinterest.

See it works like this, you sign up to become an affiliate for let’s just say ultimate bundles (this is just an example), you create a pin for a certain product and promote it on Pinterest, someone clicks on your pin, purchases a bundle and you get paid.

This also works really well if you do have a blog or website with your own products.

You can learn more about how to make your first affiliate sale on Pinterest with this eBook.

8. Flipp Websites/Blogs

You’ve probably heard of flipping houses but it’s 2019 so of course there’s a way to flip online and this way is much more passive and takes a lot less time and money.

You can buy websites and/or blogs for quite cheap and turn them into something way better than they were before. The amount of income the website is making, how much traffic and a few other factors are going to determine the price of your blog or website once you decide to sell it.

You can use a site like Flippa to buy and sell blogs and website.

9. Make Money with Ads

This is going to be one of the most passive ways to make income because you don’t need to do anything but you do need to either have a blog, a youtube channel or a large presence online.

There are a few different ways you can go about this but as far as a blog and youtube go, you just need an ad network and then they will supply the ads and you get paid based on the number of views you have.

Which is the most passive way to make money.

You can also use affiliate marketing as I talked about above as a form of advertisement for a particular company on other social media platforms which requires a bit more work.

Don’t forget to pin for later.
