The Law of Attraction and the 12 universal laws state, our thoughts create our reality and we can manifest anything our minds can possibly think of but in order to do that we have to detach from what we want.

Huh..?

So, I’m saying we have to think about what we want while also detaching from it in order to actually manifest it?

Yup.

Detaching from our desires to manifest what we want is one of the most misunderstood, confusing and downright frustrating parts of manifestation.

But here’s the thing, when we say I want, I want, I want, all we are saying is, hey I don’t currently have this thing I want.

And your brain goes, okay, you don’t have it, no worries. And then you just see more evidence of not having what you want.

Alright, that’s all well and good but how do you actually detach?

I’m giving you three simple, yet effective as all heck ways to detach from your desires and effortlessly manifest what you want.

How to Detach from your Desires and Effortlessly Manifest What You Want

Understand Why Detachment Works

I’m a why person.

I wanna know why I have to do something before I do it, otherwise, frankly, I’m not gonna do it.

So before I even go into how to detach I want to give you a little background into why detachment works and why it’s one of the easiest, most effortless and well, most fun ways to manifest your desires.

The process of manifesting ANYTHING you want is to simply, ask, believe, receive.

Ask for what you want, believe it’s already yours, be open to receiving it in whatever way the universe chooses and then receive your desire.

That’s the basic premise of The Law of Attraction but you can read more about that here.

Think about it this way.

When you’re attached to something, you’re attached to the outcome of it and it’s usually coming from a place of lack and fear.

Fear that you won’t get what you want, lack of not having it, frustration, impatience, and so on.

These emotions put you into a state of lower vibration which basically just means, you’re on a different frequency than your desire.

Okay, let’s break it down one more step.

Let’s say you want to listen to 90’s greatest hits #90sbaby but on your radio, you’re tuned into today’s greatest hits.

You get frustrated that you’re not hearing the music you want, but you’re on the wrong frequency, the wrong station.

This is what happens when you feel those lower frequency emotions towards what you want.

You’re just on the wrong radio station.

So how do you get on the same frequency of your desires?

You detach.

How to Detach with Gratitude 

Gratitude is seriously amazing and it is one of the best ways to feel incredible in your life about every single aspect of your life.

When you spent hours, days, months, finding the perfect gift for someone you love, you give it to them watching wide-eyed and bouncing on your feet you’re so excited to see their face when they open it…

And all they give you is a thumbs up and move onto the next gift.

Feels like the winds been knocked out of you, doesn’t it?

Alright, let’s take a less extreme example.

You woke up today.

You’re reading this.

Did you say thank you for another day?

Saying “thank you”, feeling gratitude only on the days when you’re supposed to because it’s polite isn’t what I’m talking about here.

One of the easiest ways to get out of your head, out of your own way and effortless detach from your desired manifestation is to feel gratitude for already having what you want.

This sounds absolutely ridiculous.

And honestly, it sure feels ridiculous at first.

But it works.

You see, your brain, your subconscious mind is always saying YES, YES, YES, and will always show you evidence of your thoughts and feelings to prove you right.

So when you give thanks and feel gratitude towards what you want, you’re brain is like, dang we got that thing and will literally show you physical evidence of already having it.

Feeling gratitude is also a really simple way to detach and get out of your head.

When you’re feeling grateful for what you already have, you immediately stop thinking about what you don’t have, which means uh, you just detached from your desire.

YAY!

How to Detach by Living in The Moment

Living in the moment is something us millennials are always accused of not doing.

And I’m here to tell you…

If you want to truly detach from your desires, living in the moment is one of the best ways.

When we “live in the moment” instead of focusing on the future, how quickly our desires will manifest, if they ever will manifest, we get out of that lack, fear-based thinking and into, well, the moment.

It’s the future that’s scary.

It’s unknown to us which is why we attach to it.

And by attaching to the future, we’re attaching to the outcome of our manifestations.

Which is just getting in the way of the process in the second step, believe.

If we truly believed we’d get what we wanted, we wouldn’t be thinking about the future and worrying or getting frustrated about things that haven’t even happened yet.

Living the moment can simply mean checking in with ourselves.

How do we feel right here right now?

The easiest way to begin to live mindfully and in the moment is to practice meditation.

Yeah, yeah, I know, sitting crossed legged on the floor while chanting and singing Kumbaya sounds like the last thing you want to do.

But again, meditation teaches you to quiet the mind, get out of your own head and into the present moment even if for just a few minutes.

Mediation is also the most free way to live in the moment and detach.

Another way to learn how to live in the moment is to read, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

It’s an extremely powerful book but isn’t necessarily beginner friendly.

 

Feel Your Way to Detachment

Do you know how powerful your feelings are??

Like seriously though.

We can all look at something and all feel differently about it.

The way we feel about things determines how attached or not attached we are to it.

Think about a blade of grass.

If it were to be plucked would you really care?

No.

Now think about $10.

$100.

$1,000.

If that were taken away from you would you care?

How would you feel about that?

See?

Our feelings play one of the biggest roles in manifesting or not manifesting what we desire.

Because with feelings usually comes attachment.

But we can actually use our feelings to attract what we want and I personally find this way of detachment to be the most fun.

In order to ya know, not deny our feelings but actually use them in the manifestation process is to feel the feelings of what you want to manifest.

If you want to manifest money into your life, feel the feelings of abundance.

If you want to manifest a significant other into your life, feeling the feelings of love.

You can literally do this for anything and everything you desire to manifest.

Our outer world is simply a mirror of our inner world.

Which means our thoughts and feelings are just being projected out into real life.

If you feel love and put love out there, you will attract more love into your life.

If you feel abundant, you will attract more abundance.

That’s just the way it works.

Don’t believe me?

Think about a time when you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and we’re really annoyed, frustrated, angry.

How were the people you encountered that day?

Friendly? Or just as annoyed as you are?

Rude?

Did the whole day seem to go to crap?

Yeah.

Feeling the feelings of what you want to manifest is one of the easiest ways to combine everything I’ve said above, in turn, making you a freaking magnet to your desires.

By feeling those feelings you’re putting out gratitude automatically, you’re living in the moment instantly and you’re detaching like crazy.

Not only that, it’s so much more fun to feel love, abundance, joy, happiness, whatever, right here, right now.

You may be wondering HOW though.

How do you feel those feelings right now?

Well, do the things that make you feel those feelings now.

Spend time with the people who make you feel those feelings right now.

If walking down Rodeo Drive makes you feel abundant, do that.

If helping an elderly woman cross the cross makes you feel love, do that.

The more you do the things that get you into the feeling of what you want to manifest, the more fun you’re going to have, the more you effortless detach and the more you will see those things reflected in your life.

 

Ask, Believe, Recieve

There are three steps to manifesting what you want.

Ask.

Believe.

Receive.

That’s it.

But let’s face it, detach should probably be in there somewhere because it’s always extremely important.

At the end of the day, detaching from what you want is the easiest and most fun way to manifest what you want out of life.

Because the most fun part of life is the journey.

Yeah, I did that.
